Welcome to Anna Valley Farm. Nestled in the historic Patrick Henry
District of Louisa County,
Virginia,
Anna Valley Farm is a 220 acre horse ranch, featuring cow horse prospects
undergoing various stages of training.
Anna Valley Farm is located 22 miles from Charlottesville
(25 from the UVA grounds), and 45miles from Richmond--5 miles from Zion Crossroads.
As AVF is a private working farm, visits are available by appointment
only.
Training
is in Full Swing
Does your horse need a tune-up? Have a youngster that hasn’t
been ridden? Problems with your horse that you can’t fix? Give us a call
and we’ll schedule a one week evaluation of your horse for $100. If we
take your horse in, training board is $35/day—everyone’s amazed at what
Pat can do and you’ll be helping to fill our barns so that we can
continue to do this stuff.
AVF
Indoor Arena
The indoor is 100 x 130, consisting of an 80 x 130 riding
arena, with a 20' extension to the width. This provides an 8'
milling/staging area and an additional 10' width running the entire
length of the building for stalls, tack, office, storage, etc.
The riding arena enables our customers to take lessons and ride during
inclement weather and winter. It also facilitates the production of
seminars, clinics and invitational events.

Training
Would you like to try Cutting and Sorting, Western Speed Events
such as Team Penning, Versatility Ranch Horse, Working Cow Horse, Western
Showing?
We can help you start your own horse or just help you start your
horse on cattle. If you don't own a horse and you just want to come out
to learn and compete on one of our fine cow horses, we are open to
beginners and all skill levels.
Look at that stop on Hollywood (Jagged Jac). Have you ever seen someone
riding without a bridle? Here's Pat having some fun with Hollywood. We’re missing him as he’s
gone to a new home with Jennifer.

These are pictures of one of our students. It is Caelan's first time
learning to work cattle, as well as his first time loping off. Caelan is
riding Cody.

Classes are by appointment and of one hour duration*

Owners must provide their own equipment when riding their horses. AVF
will provide equipment for riding our horses. For work on cattle at the
farm, an additional $10 charge is levied to offset maintenance costs. We
do not simply rent horses. All riding is provided in a lesson and/or
practice format.
*additional time generally provided, if available and at trainer's
discretion
AQHA
and APHA Performance Horses
Lines include descendents of Doc Bar, Doc O'Lena, Doc's Prescription and
Smart Chic Olena. The trainers at Anna Valley Farm have a passion for
perfection and the experience to help our horses to become the best that
they can be. Our motto is "the proof is in the pudding". Come
for a demonstration and judge for yourself.
Arena
AVF features a 100' x 160' outdoor arena, adjacent to a catch pen and
cattle staging area for training students for hunter/jumper and western
riding. A 60' round pen is used for ground work on the horses.
